CLP Case Study

The Challenge

To secure a future for the localisation industry in Ireland by adding value to the people and jobs representing the industry. The brief – to prepare a skills requirements 'Road Map' for the education and qualification of future localisation professionals in Ireland.

The Solution

Based on a comprehensive skills analysis within the localisation Industry, the CLP Advisory Board initiated and set up a number of skill and competency focused 'Curriculum Councils' in order to develop industry specific training and assessment Curricula. Broadcast Learning and Sun Microsystems were co-facilitators on the I18N – [Internationalisation] - curriculum council.

As the technology solution partner in CLP, Broadcast Learning also developed the architecture for a comprehensive skill and competency based assessment system.

The CLP project has now enabled the establishment of a sustainable industry specific accreditation system and the opportunity to make industry based qualifications and training processes measurable at both national and international level.
